Saturday - World War II naval game

Run by Richard L
Sides - Simon and Margaret US defending
Chris, Cliff and Chris Japanese attacking
US forces defending a chain of islands with less forces than the attacking Japanese. Japanese aimed at targeting certain of the islands in the chain. This was played using my naval system that involved the accumulation and spending of uncertainty points so that although you could see all the pieces on the table you didn't know exactly where the ships they represented were. That being said I have no idea what happened in the game - but I seem to remember it being fairly indecisive.

Sunday morning - Full Thrust

Run by Chris S
Chris and Margaret with lumbering outclassed NSL ships
Maria von Burgund BB, 2 BC two escort cruisers and 2 cruisers??
Cliff and Richard with agile, daring and lethal FSE ships - 5 Roma BB one San Miguel CL.
FSE closed rapidly on the NSL ships and loosed off one volley of missiles which caused some damage. NSL hit the FSE ships at long range and took out one of the Roma BBs missile launchers on the first threshold.
When the ships streaked past each other the FSE missiles did fair damage, but the ones fired at the main battleship group targeted the escorts mainly and only did moderate damage to the battleship.
As the two sides broke from the close engagement the rate of fire diminished, but the cumulative hits caused another first threshold check on a Roma BB caused it to lose its main weapon system. The San Antoine (San Miguel) took one hit which took out all but one of its boxes and left it with crippled life support, power and command. It got the life support back up in the one turn it had available and then promptly blew up as its power core went critical.
As the fast moving FSE ships and slower NSL ships both circled away trying to come to bear the most weapons eventually the FSE missiles wore down the NSL BB, and its escorts, one of which just got itself under control when it got hit by 11 missiles which did enough damage to destroy it and do enough damage to destroy it once over intact.
The FSE ships which were starting to look worn from the concentrated fire from the NSL ships jumped out having destroyed the BB and its escorts, but leaving two big BC intact. One Roma was destroyed and two suffered bad damage, and the San Miguel was destroyed.

Sunday pm - World War I naval

Cliff and Chris (Canis) British defending with greater forces but a large area to cover and not enough dummies.
Margaret and Chris attacking with lesser forces, but the advantage of surprise and knowing what their objective was.
Light engagement in which a lone destroyer met most of the British fleet. Then to the north their was a large engagement which should have favoured the Germans as they had numbers on their side and heavier ships, but the German BBs couldn’t hit anything and they ended up taking too many casualties before they overwhelmed the British BC and escorts.
